Liberal Arts Program Student Association

Professor's Note

I am a professor of Slavic cultures, and I work on Central and Eastern Europe, specifically on Austrian, Czech, Hungarian, Polish, and Russian literature and culture, with a comparative perspective. I am interested in the ways that literature, history, and philosophy intersect, and this is why I enjoy teaching in the Liberal Arts program. The Liberal arts program provides students with a broad understanding of what culture, philosophy, religion, and history mean in a global context. Students can think outside of national paradigms, exploring the differences and congruences between cultures over several historical eras. The program provides students with enormous flexibility, while also giving them a strong basis in language and critical thinking, two essential skills in the world today.

Creator of the LAPSA Website

I am deeply passionate about the arts in all their forms—poetry, music, cinematography, and theatre—as well as feminist and gender studies, classics, philosophy, politics, and communications. While my heart lies in the humanities, I also specialize in the finance sector, demonstrating the broad skill set that Liberal Arts can cultivate.

I created this website to encourage students to explore the Liberal Arts path, a field that is both intellectually fulfilling and incredibly versatile. This program has allowed me to engage with a wide range of subjects that, despite their differences, all interconnect in fascinating ways. Through LAPSA, I hope to highlight the wealth of opportunities that Liberal Arts provides, proving that a well-rounded education is not only enriching but also empowering.
